Tribest GSE-5050 – Best High-End Twin Gear Juicer For Greens
The Tribest GSE-5050 is robust, durable and efficient. This is a Green Star Elite juicer, designed to crush, cut and slice ingredients to increase juice output and preserve nutritive value.
The GSE-5050 uses twin gear, and cold pressed system. These gears are made of stainless steel paired with bioceramic and magnets. Juicer’s gears (named Jumbo Twin Gears) utilize the power of bioceramic/magnetic technology to extract ingredients with little to no heat.
Gears rotate at slow speed, roughly 110 RPM, thus preserving enzymes and vitamins. The Tribest GSE-5050 also boasts comprehensive mastication system. What this means is that the juicer’s Twin Gears feature small pocket recessions that help process hard ingredients. Pockets also prevent the vegetable from getting entangled and clogging the juicer (which can occur with ingredients like celery).
You also receive various homogenizing tools that diversify the purpose of this juicer. With these tools, you can use it to create butter, salsa, and similar food. Heck, you can even use it to make your homemade pasta! And, the Tribest GSE-5050 adjusts to your needs!
You can adjust the pressure system in a way that suits your juice density preferences. More importantly, you can change the pressure while the juicer is running, which is very helpful when you have various ingredients in the juicer.
Verdict
- Versatile usability
- Easy to assemble and maintain
- Adjustable pressure system
- Durable and efficient stainless steel gears
- Expensive
- The mesh can be tricky to clean

Its low speed, 47 RPM cold-pressed technology delivers highly nutritive green juices with reduced oxidation. The SW-2000 is an ideal pick for those that want to make juices with increased shelf life.
This juicer uses a combination of powerful motor and dual-edge auger. The engine is a bit loud, but it sure does a fantastic job at turning hard vegetables into delicious juice! Most importantly, this motor won’t jam even if you pack the juicer with plenty of hard vegetables.
This juicer also arrives with various attachments than quickly transform it into a multi-purpose tool. Specifically, this vertical juicer comes with a mincing attachment; merely swap the integrated juicing attachment with the mining attachment and make versatile food (such as salsas, butter, sorbets, etc.)

This juicer boasts 8X auger (GE Ultem) that squeezes not just greens, but also hard vegetables, coffee, nuts, and frozen fruit. Omega (juicer’s manufacturer) refers to this machine as Nutrition Center. Why? Well, this juicer is very versatile and can produce drinks and snacks that suit even the most demanding tastes!
Its gear reduction system is smooth and powerful, equivalent to the power of 2 HP motor. More importantly, its masticating system pressures the ingredients and extracts the juices without any hassle and loss of value. This juicer is also extremely efficient and economical, allowing you to retrieve every bit of juice out of your ingredients.
You will also receive attachments for grinding coffee and frozen fruit. Even though this is our favorite juicer for greens, we feel that the chute is a bit too small. Also, the output cup plastic feels a bit underwhelming and stains quite easily, meaning that you’ll have to clean it quite frequently.
Verdict
- Delivers dry and foam-free pulp
- Highly sophisticated and sturdy motor
- Cold-pressed technology
- Reasonably quiet
- Easy to assemble and clean
- Narrow chute
- Harder ingredients require more chopping
SKG Juicer – Best All-Around Vertical Juicer For Greens
The SKG juicer is another low RPM (60) vertical cold-pressed machine. It is stable, well-made and consistent. You can also obtain it slightly different styles and colors, but you should know that these variations don’t change the functionality of this juicer (at least not significantly.)
The SKG juicer uses a 240 W motor that runs quietly and smoothly. The juicer outputs dry and dense pulp with very little oxidation/foam. This juicer delivers high-yield content thanks to the high-pressure squeezing mechanism.
Much of this juicer’s success can be attributed to its design and quality parts. This machine is made of stainless steel, silicone, and PEI (high-quality plastic.) All the parts are rated as food grade parts and boast anti-corrosive features. And, this juicer has been certified by various regulatory bodies, including the ETL and CE.
Verdict

Kuvings NJE-3580U – Best Entry Level Juicer For Greens
The NJE-3580U is a cost-effective and cold-pressed juicer with unique design and fair price tag. It uses a potent 170-Watt motor to rune the 80 RPM juice making system. While the NJE-3580U isn’t as durable as other products on our list, it does deliver extra-dry pulp and comes with plenty of useful attachments.
Kuvings NJE-3580U produces highly nutritive juice, pasta, butter, and other foods (depending on the attachments you use.) It is also effortless to clean and maintain, which cannot be said for most other juicers. Its food chute is a bit narrow, and you will have to chop the food into small pieces, especially if you are using hard food.
It is quiet, easy to assemble and maintain. In fact, if you are new to the world of green juicing, this might be the best juicer for greens to start with (due to its low price and ease of use.) But, you must be aware of one design flaw, the auger durability.
The bad news is that they don’t know what is causing this problem. Everything else works great; you have the auto-feeding design, you receive seven different nozzles, and most importantly, you can make nutrient-rich green juice.
Verdict
- Massive juice yield
- Deliver dry pulp
- Easy to assemble and clean
- Comes with various attachments
- Unreliable (the issue with the auger)
Hurom HH-SBB11 – Best High-Yield Vertical Juicer For Greens
The HH-SBB11 is Hurom’s most advanced juicer. It features advanced twin-winged technology, SST, and a safety lock system, among other things. It is well-constructed and features a sleek design that should match the decor of contemporary homes.
This juicer features a T-W auger, which improves juice yield and extracts nutrients out of raw ingredients. This auger is paired with the Hurom’s Slow Squeeing Technology (abbreviated SST); together, these two features produce roughly 35% more juice than most other juicers.
The SST squeezes the ingredients very gently and consistently, slowly increasing the pressure and thus allowing the vegetables and fruit to release their natural juices. More importantly, the SST ensures that the juice keeps vitamins A and C, together with the plant’s live enzymes.
We also liked the juicer’s design. It is made of robust and easy to assemble parts that are easy to clean. It also features a slightly more advanced self-cleaning system that reduces accumulation of food leftovers. And, this device features a safety lock system!
In essence, the motor won’t start running until all the parts are in place (to prevent misuse and increase your safety and item’s durability.) And btw, the HH-SBB11 motor runs at 43 RPM only, the lowest RPM on our list!
Verdict
- Amazing SST technology
- Advanced twin winged auger
- Delivers high yield juice
- Saves all vitamins and enzymes
- Helpful self-cleaning technology
- A bit expensive
- Unfriendly customer service
Omega Juicer VRT350 – Best High-End Vertical Juicer For Greens
The Omega VRT350 is arguably the most stable and reliable juicer on our list, built for the heavy-duty environment. This slow-speed juicer squeezes green vegetables gently and methodically, ensuring that you enjoy the authentic taste and all health benefits of your ingredients.
The VRT350 processes the ingredients at 80 RPM, using a dual stage system. The combination of slow-speed and dual-stage systems ensure that you enjoy the foam-free juice. We also have to commend the VRT350 design. This juicer is very compact, probably the smallest unit on our list and it will probably take minimal space in your kitchen. So, if your kitchen is already cluttered and small, consider opting for this machine to avoid the lack-of-space problems. Design aside, the Omega VRT350 is also highly functional.
Verdict
- Efficient two-stage extracting system
- Durable, stable and reliable
- Quiet and powerful motor
- Compact
- A bit expensive
- Narrow food chute
Doctor Hetzner Juicer – Best Budget Juicer For Greens
We want to be honest from the start and say that we didn’t expect that much from the Doctor Hetzner (DH) Juicer. It was the least expensive items on our list, it felt cheap, and we were afraid that we would break it if we pressed it too hard! Well, the DH juicer proved us wrong and demonstrated that an item can be 2 or 3 times less expensive than its competitors and still deliver fantastic results.
This juicer is made of BPA-free materials, plastic and stainless steel with ETL and CE certifications. Yes, it did feel a bit cheap, but so did other more expensive units! For us, it was important that this unit didn’t clog or break when we tested it, even in the heavy-duty environment.
It slowly compresses vegetables and fruit, delivering less foam and ensuring that the juice keeps nutrients and natural color. This unit runs on cold-pressed technology at the rate of 80 RPM. And, the product is easy to assemble and maintain since it consists of few parts.
The DH juicer has some downsides, of course. We disliked the narrow chute and had to cut vegetables and fruits into tiny pieces, which prolonged the juice-making process. Sometimes you’ll have to run the pulp twice to get all the juice (this depends on the vegetables/fruit you use.)
Verdict
- Extremely valuable
- Well-constructed and sturdy
- No clogging or breaking
- Several operating modes
- The lest expensive item
- Narrow food chute
- Requires re-squeezing of the pulp (sometimes)
Mooka Slow Masticating Juicer – Best Family Juicer For Greens
The Mooka juicer is inexpensive, compact and easy to use. It outputs little to no noise, its parts are BPA free and machine-washable, and it features all the necessary certification (CE, FDA, etc.) In short, the Mooka juicer is the perfect family juicer.
The Mooka juicer also features slow speed squeezing technology, designed to get the most out of your greens (this juicer extracts roughly 88% of your greens, which is impressive.) It crushes the ingredients in an airtight environment and then squeezes the pulp to create a foam-free juice.
This juicer uses a 3-stage cylinder to extract the juice. Its cylinder chops, squeezes and then micro-squeezes raw ingredients, turning them slowly but surely into a delicious and toxin-free juice. It also features soft and hard modes, allowing you to cut all types of food. Thanks to this option you can cut fruit, vegetables, and most importantly, leafy greens.
Furthermore, you have forward and reverse modes that you can use to prevent clogging and ensure more efficient extracting. This juicer is also simple to assemble and disassemble; virtually all compartments are detachable, allowing you to wash the machine thoroughly.
Verdict
- Extremely valuable
- Features hard and soft mode for better functioning
- Easy to clean and assemble/disassemble
- Quiet and easy to use
- Narrow food chute
- Reverse mode is inconsistent
Best Juicer for Greens Buyer’s Guide
Now that you have seen our list and our comparison table, it is time we help you learn more about these machines. This section serves two purposes:
- One is to help you learn more about these machines and their advantages, differences, and disadvantages
- And the other is to help you figure out which of these juicers is the best for you and your needs
What Types Of Machines Are Suited For Greens?
The answer to this question is fundamental if you are looking for the best juicers for greens. If you went through our list, you probably noticed the term masticating quite frequently. But what does that term mean?
What this means is that masticating juicers don’t grind and cut fruits and vegetables like your regular centrifugal juicers (which boast RPM of a couple of thousands). Instead, masticating juicers literally chew fruits and vegetables at a very slow rate.
Of course, this also means that a masticating juicer will be much slower than your conventional juicer. But, because these juicers use low speed and chewing method, they are able to extract healthy nutrients and vitamins from fruits and vegetables.
The Process Of Mastication
Masticating juicers use auger or gears to process the materials and turn them into a juice. But, these juicers don’t translate the raw materials into the juice directly! Before ingredients become the juice, they are converted and mashed into a homogenous cluster known as pulp.
Then, the juicer presses the pulp and starts separating the juice from the pulp. The juicer will either use a filter, mesh or screen to keep the chunks of pulp out of the juice and at the same time allow the fluid to flow through the dedicated tubes.
Benefits Of Masticating Juicers
We already mentioned throughout our articles that masticating juicers (and twin-gear juicers, but more on them later) are more economical and efficient than centrifugal juicers. This benefit is very simple to understand; consider for a moment the input/output ratio.
What do you want from your juicer? You want that it makes juices, preferably quality juices. Well, the only way a juicer can make quality juices is if it efficiently drains ingredients you put in the juicer. You want that your juicer uses between 70% and 85% of vegetables and fruits. But, you have to understand that this process takes time, which is why you need a low RPM juicer.
But lets put economical benefits aside for just a moment and talk about health benefits. You see, the cold-pressed method has been used for thousands of years to create oils and juices. Why is it better to use the cold-pressed method? Well, this method doesn’t heat up vegetables and fruit.
Consequently, fruits and vegetables won’t lose their nutritive value, vitamins won’t evaporate and beneficial enzymes will remain active. Less heat and speed also means less foam in your juice.
And most importantly, the juicers on our list can make juices out of spinach, celery, wheatgrass, and other green vegetables and herbs. These juicers will slowly chew greens and extract the juices from them. The problem with greens is that they are very thin and tiny, making it harder for a juicer to extract the juice. While this causes problems for centrifugal juicers, it doesn’t seem to bother masticating juicers since they pressure and chew and slowly but surely extract juices.
And What About Twin Gear Juicers?
Twin gear juicers are also slow, steady and patient. But unlike masticating juicers, which often use a single drill that rotates and chews fruits and vegetables, twin gear juicers feature two gears that rotate from the outside in.
During this rotating process, the juicer grinds and chews the content and produces juice. Note that you will have to push ingredients as this process continues (not automatic feeding). Benefits are quite similar to those of masticating juicers.
It is needless to say that twin-gear juicers are perfect for leafy vegetables, especially greens. You will need to add extra strength if you try to grind hard vegetables (like a carrot), but you’ll have no problems with spinach, celery or lettuce.
Vertical Or Horizontal?
We cannot give you a definite answer to this question because both juicers have their own advantages and disadvantages. They differ in design, functionality, price, juice-making features (speed, quality, types of juice affinity, etc.) If you are interested in this discussion, read the two subheadings below.
Horizontal Juicers
Most old juicers feature horizontal design. Aside from making juice, these juicers were also used to grind coffee, make butter, grind frozen fruit, and so forth. Heck, why no?! If the device can do all these things, and if it arrives with necessary attachments, you should take full advantage of it.
Generally, the feeding chute on horizontal juicers is roughly 1 1/4 inches wide, which is quite small, especially if you compare it with centrifugal machines. But, there is a reason why the chute is often narrower than we want it to be!
On the other hand, the preparation time is much longer with horizontal juicers. Horizontal juicers are also generally much cheaper than vertical juicers. Horizontal juicers are more challenging to clean because the gravity pulls fruit and vegetables downwards in a horizontal tube, increasing the chance of pulp accumulation (in tubes.)
Vertical Juicers
Most modern juicers feature vertical design. Why? For starters, vertical juicers take less space in your kitchen. Technically, they don’t take less space, but they do take less usable space (they are narrower but higher).
Vertical juicers also feature wider feeding chute, mostly because they can process ingredients at a much faster rate. Vertical juicers also have an “unfair advantage” over horizontal ones, which is the help of gravity!
But, because they can produce juices at a much faster rate, that doesn’t mean that they are better for greens. In fact, it is better to have a slower device for leafy greens. If you decide to buy a vertical juicer, take your time with it and don’t rush the process.
Vertical juicers take less preparation time and can process larger chunks of ingredients more efficiently and rapidly. They are also often more durable and more comfortable to clean than the vertical juicers because the gravity helps push the pulp downwards.
What Is The Best Juicer for Wheatgrass?
Twin-Gear juicers are probably the best option for making wheatgrass juice. Moreover, the twin gear will gently grind the wheatgrass and extract sweetness, making the juice more enjoyable and tasteful. If you are looking for an optimal solution for wheatgrass, then twin-gear juicers should be your primary goal.
Masticating juicers are also a reliable option for making wheatgrass juice. We know that wheatgrass is hugely beneficial for our health; it can reduce cholesterol, help with weight loss, and is rich in nutrients and antioxidants. But there is one big problem with wheatgrass, and that is the fact that it is very challenging to make juice out of it.
Chopping and cutting won’t do you any good, which is why you have to opt for chewing methods. Now, you can munch on wheatgrass using your teeth, or you can invest in a masticating juicer and extract the juices from the wheatgrass.
We will always recommend twin-gear and single gear juicers (masticating machine) for wheatgrass. We apply the same logic to alfalfa sprouts and other similar herbs/vegetables.
What Is The Best Juicer For Greens Overall?
It is impossible to answer this question without taking your personal tastes into account. So, we created a list of things you need to keep in mind should you decide to buy a juicer for greens.
Type Of Juicer
Essentially, you have to choose between twin-gear and a single-gear juicer. If you select a single gear juicer, then you also have to choose between horizontal and vertical. We explained all the advantages and disadvantages above, and you can always go back to them to see the differences.
Ease Of Use
When we say “ease of use” we refer to juicers usability and maintenance. For example, if you hate washing juicers, then you should go for the ones that are easy to clean, preferably vertical ones. Furthermore, if you are new to the world of juicers, go with the one that comes with plenty of modes and attachments.
Okay, we know that this sounds counterintuitive, but how else are you going to learn about juicers if you don’t have access to various accessories and attachments? You don’t have to use all the attachments the first day you get the juicer, but don’t be afraid of a little experimentation.
Durability And Design
It seems redundant to say that you should look for durable items, but you should always look for durability in these products. We aren’t necessarily talking about the durability of vital parts, but of meshes, filters, lids, handles, and so forth.
You should also think about the design; consider the product’s dimensions and colors. Ideally, your juicer should match your kitchen decor (assuming that these things matter to you.)
Budget
There’s no doubt that price plays a huge role in these machines. But, one thing needs to be said: “Just because the product is expensive, that doesn’t mean that it is better than its cheaper alternative.”
Trust us; we learned this when we reviewed the Doctor Hetzner Juicer! This juicer was by far the most inexpensive item on our list, but it performed better than some other, more expensive items. The point we are trying to make is this; even if your budget is limitless, don’t just blindly buy the most expensive juicer.
Non-Green Purposes
Yes, this article is about best juicer for greens, but that doesn’t mean you will use a juicer for greens only? Well, if you plan on using a juicer for other, non-green reasons, then you have to broaden your selection parameters. What do we mean by that?
- If you are looking for a multi-purpose juicer, go with the horizontal single-gear juicer (masticating).
- If you are looking for a juicer that will make you juices (green or non-green) in a short time, then go for the vertical juicers.
- But, if you are looking for a green-only juicer, then you should probably go with the twin-gear juicer!
Final Thoughts
If you read everything that we said in this article, then you are ready to buy an optimal juicer! We know that this article was packed with a lot of data, and it is okay if you have to go through it a couple of times to make sense of it…
This article showed us that choosing the best juicer for greens is not that simple. There are various factors you have to consider, from budget and design to speed and power. But, it is always better to take all these things into account if you are sincere about the product.
Making and drinking your green juices is a healthy and beautiful thing, but also the one that requires proper tools, patience, and skill. If you are new to all of this, don’t rush your selection process and most importantly, don’t hasten your green juice making process when you finally receive your shipment!
